1/27/2020 - Learn about the City's ADA Transition Plan and tell us what you think!

The City of Lewiston is developing its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan and appreciates your input. This Plan addresses barriers in public rights of way (along/adjacent to streets and intersections) within Lewiston. This includes sidewalks, curb ramps, access to push buttons, and other factors such as maintaining access during construction. The city has collected conditions data for all streets and will, in combination with public input, prioritize investments to transition the sidewalk system to ADA compliance over a series of years.

While we are focusing on the needs of those with disabilities, Lewiston recognizes that providing a system of sidewalks and curb ramps that are accessible to those with disabilities also creates a system that is accessible to all people who live in and visit Lewiston. Feel free to provide input if you believe there are barriers to safe access to our streets via the sidewalk system.
