IMPROVING TRAFFIC FLOW AND SAFETY

Starting Wednesday, March 15, 2023, drivers should plan for street closures and detours while work is being performed at the intersection of 10th Street and Burrell Avenue.

A mini-roundabout will be constructed at this intersection to help improve traffic flow and safety.

REMINDER: PLASTIC BAGS

Yard Waste Reminder_for Web (1)

In addition to the standard yard waste cart, Sunshine Disposal and Recycling collects overflow yard waste in plastic bags from November 1st through March 31st.

Even though plastic bags are not accepted after March 31st, you may place extra yard waste in 20-32 gallon #50 wet-strength paper bags year-round. Yard waste is collected weekly from March 1st through December 31st.

HIGH RESERVOIR RUPTURE UPDATE

Since the High Reservoir rupture occurred on January 18, 2023, the City of Lewiston has cooperated with its insurance company in the investigation to identify the cause of the rupture. To date, the investigation is still ongoing.

The Mayor and City staff are dedicated to finding a resolution to this situation. Nearly two months have passed since the event, and the City wanted to provide an update on what has been discovered through the investigation thus far.
