In conjunction with Stage 3 of Rebound Idaho, all City of Lewiston playgrounds are open for use.
On the 28th and 29th of May, the City partnered with Palmer’s Window Washing, LLC to power wash and sanitize the playground features at all nine playgrounds. Chase Palmer reached out early on and wanted to see what he could do to give back to the community where he lives and operates his business. Through discussions with Parks and Recreation Director Tim Barker, it was decided that deep cleaning the playgrounds was a great way to get them prepared for reopening.
Everyone is encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer before and after using playground equipment. We also want to encourage users to maintain social distancing from those who may not live in the same home. If someone is feeling ill, please choose to self quarantine and not be out in public areas, such as our parks. If the playground is full, please choose a different park or visit at another time.
In addition, drinking fountains will be turned on June 1st and park water features will follow on June 15th. The final park amenity to open this summer will be Orchards Pool on July 1st.
