Homebound Service

We bring the library to you!

Lewiston City Library offers Homebound Service to Lewiston residents who are temporarily or permanently no longer able to come to the library on their own, but still want access to library materials.  Library staff selects materials based upon individual readers’ interests and requests, and a volunteer delivers their items.

Get Started!

Fill out and submit the "Tell Us About You" form. Once received, someone from our Homebound Services team will contact you to learn more about your interests.

Fill out this form: Tell Us About You

What items can I get?

Just about anything in our collection - large or regular print books, magazines, CD audio-books, and DVDs. We also have a large selection of eBooks and audiobooks available for your electronic devices - please ask us for details. Talking Book Service may be available for those with vision impairment.

How do I order items?

Items are ordered by calling the library, filling out a request form, or writing a note and sending it back with your returns. You can also request an item online through the Valnet catalog.

How long can I keep items?

The lending period for all items is six weeks. You may renew your items as long as a hold by another patron hasn’t been placed on the item. If you receive an overdue notice, please contact the library to renew the items, or arrange for their return.

When do you deliver and pick up?

We deliver and pick up items once a month. You send items back when the new items are delivered. You can always call Homebound Services to make other arrangements should this system not work for you.
