Friends of the Library
What is the Friends of the Library?
The Friends of the Lewiston City Library is a non-profit organization operated by a group of dedicated volunteers who support the Library through monetary contributions and volunteer assistance.
What do the Friends do?
The Friends provide community outreach and help the library sponsor special programs, most notably the Summer Reading Program, for children and adults. They also help to purchase needed equipment, materials, and expand our book collection.
How can I get involved?
Join the Friends!
- The Friends are always looking for people willing to contribute their time to help support the library.
Donate!
The Friends are happy to accept both monetary and material donations. The Lewiston City Library accepts book donations on behalf of the Friends of the Lewiston City Library and allows for storage of these materials while they are awaiting sorting and sale. If materials appear to be a benefit to the library collection, the Friends may in turn donate them to the Lewiston City Library. Once materials are sorted, they are sold by donation by the Friends at the biannual book sales or in the Book Nook to the left of the 5th Street library entrance.
Monetary donations can be place into the donations box located in the Library’s Book Nook or be mailed to the library with a note indicating the Friends of the Library as the recipient.
